A: King provides a 1-year warranty on all parts and labor from the original date of purchase.
A: The King Portable Brinell Tester is not designed to hold pressure. When testing, pull the pump handle until 3000kg is met and you feel a tension relief in the handle. Once you feel this relief, apply an additional 3 pumps to maintain the pressure level in the reading gauge.
- 1. Remove sac nut and rubber sac.
- 2. Dispose of current oil by inverting tester upside down to drain.
- 3. Fill cavity with new oil ensuring oil is covering the two holes in the sump.
- 4. Pump out ram to 3/8” while maintaining oil level above said holes.
- 5. Reinstall rubber sac and sac nut.
- 6. Adjust ram to original position
A: Testers should be calibrated daily on a test block by reading a known indent to ensure the tester is within the required ASTM calibration standards. King provides both a 2x6 test block and 4x4 alphanumeric test block for testing and calibration purposes.
