A: The King Portable Brinell Tester abides by requirements for portable hardness testing. Click here for more information on ASTM E10 and ASTM E110.

A: King welcomes any and all questions our customers may have regarding operations and troubleshooting of the tester. A: King provides a 1-year warranty on all parts and labor from the original date of purchase.

A: The King Portable Brinell Tester is not designed to hold pressure. When testing, pull the pump handle until 3000kg is met and you feel a tension relief in the handle. Once you feel this relief, apply an additional 3 pumps to maintain the pressure level in the reading gauge.

A:
1. Remove sac nut and rubber sac.
2. Dispose of current oil by inverting tester upside down to drain.
3. Fill cavity with new oil ensuring oil is covering the two holes in the sump.
4. Pump out ram to 3/8” while maintaining oil level above said holes.
5. Reinstall rubber sac and sac nut.
6. Adjust ram to original position

A: Testers should be calibrated daily on a test block by reading a known indent to ensure the tester is within the required ASTM calibration standards. King provides both a 2×6 test block and 4×4 alphanumeric test block for testing and calibration purposes.
